Dear Taesub / Bhargava / All,

We should also consider another alternative for the IPSec: strongSwan
Some key features of strongSwan:

· Open source GPL v2 Licensing

· IKEv1 and IKEv2 keying capabilities

· Runs on Linux 2.6 and Linux 3.x kernels (as well as Mac OS X, Windows)

· Well tested on all the different platforms by many developers.

· Excellent community support

· 88 years of effort (COCOMO model) with well documented code

· LOC: 500k
Please refer to the following link for more details about strongSwan:

Sushil

Dear Taesub and All,

Android and iOS supports PPTP, L2TP and IPSec security methods for VPN.

To support these methods, we need VPNC , OpenL2TP and PPTPD plugins.

Authentication Method

VPN Plug-in

License

Comments

IPSec

VPNC

GPL

L2TP

L2TPD

Officially Inactive

L2TP

OpenL2TP

GPL

Need to check the compatibility with Connman

PPTP

PPTPD

GPL v2

SSL / TLS

OpenVPN

GPL v2

Already uploaded to Tizen 3.x

SSL

OpenConnect

LGPL

This may not be required.

To summarize, lets go with VPNC, OpenL2TP, PPTPD and Open VPN.

Please let me know your openion on this.

Hi All,

@ Zhengguang,

Excuse me for not having answered your letter sooner.

Currently, we are working for Core API on tizen 2.3. I think we need to consider the open Core API for WiNet and comman based P2P.

So, I send you about the core API lists as below. Please find the attached file. Try to have the talk again at another time.

Open core API lists :

1. Connection CAPI

2. Wi-Fi CAPI

3. Wi-Fi direct CAPI

4. Tethering CAPI

Attached file name : Tizen CoreAPI Lists.xlsx

@ Bhargava

I agree that we would need to test Intel provided modules (e.g WiNet) and inhouse modules (Hotspot 2.0 & tethering)

But Currently, we aren’t able to test with HQ kernel team. HQ kernel team’ test target is based on the Odroid.

So we will plan to the odroid target test. when ready to odroid test environment, let you know. And I will find out a way to send.

….and we also have to keep trying on M0.

Bhargava, As I said, we need to consider the open Core API for WiNet and comman based P2P. Please tell me your opinion.

And I want you to explain about VPN process to me. From what I remember, we tried to last test for OpenVPN.

Once I will share the requirements (UX guidelines) on VPN from UX team for basic VPN and AS-VPN(Application Specific VPN).

We have to freeze the VPN types to be supported on tizen 3.0.

VPN type lists

PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN, VPN Client, Open Connect

p.s. Please, find attached file for info of Core API task (Core API Guideline.zip)

lists of Core API task

1. API header separate

2. API reference description(Doxygen)

3. API module introduction(Overview)

4. Error handling

5. Smack Rule and Privilege API

6. ACR

7. API tutorial

8. API programming guide

9. API Unit TC(API Unit TC Pass rate 100% (kiran, SDK emul))

@ Jiung yu

Please, Look all this over and let me know. (> wifi-direct.h)

Thanks,

Taesub Kim

Hi, Taesub

After several rounds of discussion with ConnMan upstream about WiFi P2P CAPI proposal, we have reached an agreement with ConnMan upstream.

Really appreciated for Tomasz's effort to review it, and attachment is the version of our review achievement.

Now it's your turn to review it. :)

ConnMan based WiFi P2P solution will be released soon, it's better you can give your review result early, so that we can get some support from ConnMan upstream experts for some Samsung's specific requirements.

Any questions, feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

Zhang Zhengguang
