Agreed with you but I would like to add something about sdb.

The sdb daemon provided on sold platforms with not have the possibility
to become root. Also sdb is only working on USB link.

There was a long discussion about sdb versus ssh in the mailing list a
long time ago. Differences are:
 - ssh is a better known component that can go on networks
 - sdb is hacky not crypted but works on usb
